Nicole Kidman Really Wanted to Have More Babies with Keith Urban

Nicole Kidman invited Vogue on a tour of her Australian estate and it may convince you to move Down Under. During a rapid round of 73 questions, the actress uses the country’s vernacular — “G’day mate!” — reveals her favorite food (not vegemite), and admits the otter (not a kangaroo or koala) is her spirit animal.

When not in Nashville, Tennessee, or Hollywood, the actress lives with her husband, Keith Urban, and their two daughters, Sunday, 7, and Faith, 4, on a picturesque ranch outside of Sydney where chickens lay eggs, six alpacas chill on the farm, Black Angus cows roam on the range, and an orchard provides fruit for homemade jam.

The Queen of the Desert star also appears on the magazine’s August cover wearing a floor-length sequin gown designed by Marc Jacobs with her hair blowing in the wind and foliage in the background. (After Marc Jacobs posted the image to Instagram, some commenters were tearing it down, but he came to her defense: “All you haters… When were you last given a cover of Vogue? Damn people have a lot of negative energy..!!“)

And if an inside look at her home wasn’t enough, the 48-year-old also gets personal about her career, kids, marriage, and more. “I wish I could have met [Urban] much earlier and had way more children with him. But I didn’t. I mean, if I could have had two more children with him, that would have been just glorious. But as Keith says, ‘The wanting mind, Nicole. Shut it down.’”

Kidman even mentions her ex-husband Tom Cruise and the crazy paparazzi that follows when you’re famous. “We’re the generation that got to duck all of that,” Kidman says. “When I was with Tom, I don’t remember paparazzi sitting outside our house… not like now. This is different.” In fact, the only thing that Kidman declined to discuss was the Church of Scientology. (It’s been alleged that the religious group played a big part in splitting up her marriage to Cruise).
