Donald Trump has successfully infiltrated the world of fashion, with his trendy “Make America Great Again” hats and lines for Macy’s. And now it seems he’s seeping into the industry even more — although not without controversy. A number of Muslim fashion bloggers have reportedly had their Instagram accounts hacked with Trump propaganda videos interspersed among #OOTD selfies.

According to journalist Jennine Khalik, Australian brand Hijab House received threats, as did influencers Mariam Moufid and Nabiila Bee. She also noted that the hackers were deleting photos from the accounts and claimed they were going to shut them down. Hijab House got the authorities involved.

The company’s account previously boasted 162,000 followers but now has only two. These followers were supposedly stolen by the individual responsible, who goes by @blurryxans on the social media network.

Nabiila Bee, who previously went by @thehijabee, was another victim. She posted an image of the blackmailer’s work, which shows that someone identified as @blackxans wanted $200 to reinstate ownership. She eventually did get her account back and wrote alongside a selfie, “Thank you to all your support and no thanks to Instagram. But honestly thank you to all the love.”

One target shared the official-looking notification received that enabled the hacker access.

It seems these Muslim fashion stars were trolled with Trump videos because of his derogatory comments from early December, when, through a spokesperson, the presidential hopeful relayed the message that “Donald J. Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country’s representatives can figure out what is going on.”

Most of the targeted accounts were back up, running, and sharing selfies.
