Millions of Craft Paints Are Being Recalled Due to Harmful Bacteria

From Good Housekeeping

About 2.8 million units of a popular craft paint brand are being recalled due to a risk of contamination. Sargent Art is recalling 13 types of tempera and finger paints that were sold at Hobby Lobby and Walmart, plus Amazon and several other stores, from May 2015 to June 2016.

"The paint can contain harmful bacteria," the company said in a statement. "Exposure to certain bacteria can have adverse health effects in immunocompromised individuals, posing a risk of serious illness including a bacterial infection. Consumers with healthy immune systems are not generally affected by the bacteria."

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, no injuries or health issues have been reported so far, but if you have an affected product, you should stop using it immediately and contact Sargent Art for a full refund.
