For tonight’s the State of the Union address, First Lady Michelle Obama wore a tweed Michael Kors skirt suit that was pitch perfect. The matching off-the-shoulder jacket (which featured an exposed front zip) and knee-length skirt was most likely a custom creation that was orchestrated by her go-to stylist Meredith Koop.

If this ensemble seems familiar, devoted fans of The Good Wife will know why. Julianna Margulies wore it in a recent episode of the show. Perhaps this is the power dressing reserved for Chicago lawyers like Obama and Marguiles’s character Alicia Florrick?

Regardless, Obama has a long history of wearing Kors to top-level events. For her first official portrait, she wore a black Kors shift. She then went on to favor him for official dinners, important speeches, and international visits. FLOTUS most recently wore the designer for the White House Turnaround Arts Talent Show in May.

We’re glad that she opted for an American designer for such an important outing. What did you think of her look?
