When Michelle Obama leaves the White House in February, it’s really the people she’ll miss the most. “The girls have grown up in the White House. I mean, the staff that’s there, we see them every day. These are people who have helped us raise our kids. They’ve loved us, they’ve taken care of us,” she said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Because of this, FLOTUS told the daytime talk show host that her daughters, Sasha and Malia, will probably have a “tough time” moving on. “I’m proud of them they’ve really managed this so well,” she said. “I mean, I just love them to death and the big thing I’ve always worried about was making sure that they got out of this whole. I’m just proud that they are poised, smart, intelligent young women.”

Michelle herself also handled the role of first lady well too, saying it was an “honor” to take on the job. “I wasn’t the political spouse. I was very hesitant about this, but it’s truly been an honor to serve, to travel this country, to meet so many great people,” she said.

And she’s done it all in style. From her white Jason Wu gown for the inauguration in 2008 to the orange Narciso Rodriguez sheath she wore at President Barack Obama’s last State of the Union, she’s spent eight years serving fashion hits. As for her latest appearance, Michelle looked amazing and fashion-forward in a Gucci dress from the Italian brand’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection. When the piece went down the runway in Milan last September, it featured a much lower neckline, which the first lady had altered.
