Anyone who’s experienced any kind of bug invasion in their home can understand how mentally traumatizing and draining it can be to get rid of them. Whether it’s bedbugs, roaches, or a few flies in your kitchen, those little suckers are pretty disgusting to deal with.

Now imagine your clothing being covered with bugs … on your wedding day. Sounds like a nightmare, right? Well, for Anthony Elam of Philadelphia, this was a reality.

When Elam got married two years ago, he chose to use Men’s Wearhouse for his tuxedo rental. However, Elam claims that just after he put on the rental shirt, he spotted tons of disgusting bugs crawling throughout it. Feeling that it was too late to find another option, he wore the shirt during his big day, saying it “tormented” him during and after the ceremony, TMZ reports.

The shirt was so infested with bugs that Elam ended up being badly bitten and got a rash, an infection, and other painful aftereffects from the bugs, leading him to sue the company. Elam’s wife is also suing Men’s Wearhouse, saying she has experienced loss of work and loss of consortium (sex) from the experience.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time a company has been accused of infesting its clientele with insects. A rental furniture company named Aaron Rents was sued after a family in Atlanta discovered bedbugs in their living room furniture. Considering this is a pretty common occurrence with rental companies, it’s important to examine the products before allowing them to enter your home.

However, if you do end up with a bug infestation problem like Elam and it carries over into your household, hire a pest management professional to ensure all of the bugs are gotten rid of. It’s well worth it — trust us.
