Last week, for International Women's Day, Meghan Markle spoke out about the stigma that often surrounds periods. The open letter, which first appeared in Time, centered on Markle's recent trip to India, where she observed this phenomenon first hand.
But when it comes to travel, the actress, activist, and girlfriend to Prince Harry, is certainly no novice. Besides her work for the United Nations, the Myna Mahila foundation, and other such organizations, Markle regularly documents her wanderlust on her lifestyle website, The Tig. And while you won't find anything on her recent trip to Jamaica on the site, the blog is certainly a testament to the actress's bona fides as a content producer. In the travel department, Markle details everything from her insider's guide to the Trancoso, Brazil to a trip she took to Malta. Additional articles, which range from last-minute hosting tips, to mouth-watering recipes (mushroom pasta with creamy truffle sauce and beet cheesecake are just a few) almost always have a clear indication of Markle's involvement.
Markle is also clearly visual-attuned when it comes her site. Recipes include illustrated ingredients lists, while The Tig's Instagram, which counts one hundred and forty thousand followers, regularly posts a likable 'gram. Last Thursday, the account shared an image of bright yellow, orange, and white flower bouquets captioned, "Nothing like some #flowerpower to get us through the week." Meghan Markle, we'd have to agree.
