Meet the Blogger Allowed to Wear Cara and Rihanna’s Coat
The Legend of the Saint Laurent ♥ Coat (hereby known as the #SL♥C) goes something like this:
After debuting on Hedi Slimane’s final catwalk for the brand, it was fiercely guarded in Saint Laurent’s Paris atelier until Cara Delevingne finally freed it from its garment bag. (Think “The Sword in the Stone,” with outerwear instead of Excalibur.) Cara flaunted the #SL♥C in the Fall Saint Laurent campaign, and on the cover of W magazine… and then it went back to the vault.

That is, until Rihanna got ahold of the #SL♥C this September, where she sported the massive fox fur during a New York heatwave… just after news broke that she was back with Drake. (Aww.)

Since then? The #SL♥C has been MIA… until this morning, when Insta-babe Erica Pelosini arrived at the Fendi show in Milan wearing the fuzzy heart coat on her back. The former Grazia editor has friends in haute places, but still…how did she get THE coat?

“I think it came to me because I am in love,” she said coyly. “That’s why I was given a heart. I am in love with so much right now, but especially with my new dog, Cashmere. He is the sweetest thing, and I love him so much. I love this animal.”
Okay. But what about the other animals—like the foxes “repurposed” as her outerwear? “You know, what’s funny is that I am normally against fur. I would never buy fur in my life. But this coat was a gift, and since it arrived in my closet, I can’t not wear it. But I hope they make new ones with fake fur. We should all wear fake fur.”
Pelosini tried to slide into her show seat—but the coat was too big to fit. “I deal with this a lot today,” she laughed. “That’s why today, I have a van driving me around instead of a car. It can fit in the van.”
