Margaret Cho Permanently Joins ‘Fashion Police’

Fashion Police is adding a new face to its panel: Margaret Cho. The comedienne will join Melissa Rivers, Guiliana Rancic, and Brad Goreski as the show’s new co-host for next year’s upcoming awards season.

The E! franchise will kick off the upcoming awards seasons with coverage of the 73rd annual Golden Globe Awards, taking place Jan. 10, and continue through the entire award seasons with the SAG Awards, Grammys and Oscars. The day after each awards ceremony, Fashion Police will air at 8 p.m. ET/PT to talk about the most buzzed-about moments from the red carpet.

Cho had previously appeared on the series as a rotating celebrity guest.

“I love joining the crew of Fashion Police,” said Cho. “To me it feels like family. although I am not quite a fashionista, I would love to look at it like I am changing it up — Fashion Police: Special Victims Unit. It makes me happiest to spend time with Melissa, and when I see her laugh at my joke, I feel like Joan [Rivers] is smiling, somewhere.”

The news comes in the wake of Kelly Osbourne and Kathy Griffin’s abrupt exits last season. Griffin was brought on following the sudden death of Joan Rivers the year prior. The show was also sent into a lengthy hiatus after Rancic’s controversial remarks about Zendaya’s dreadlocks at the Oscars.

Fashion Police is produced by Wilshire Studios, with Melissa Rivers and Lisa Bacon as executive producers.
