The designer, a social media newbie who adopted the tools—and its many benefits—very quickly, recently exposed his nether region to his thousands of Instagram followers when he accidentally posted a naked selfie instead of sending a direct message with the caption "It’s yours to try!“ Now, the fashion maven is going to make a quick buck off his snafu with T-shirts baring the quote.
At the time of the incident, Jacobs unapologetically responded, “Yeah. I accidentally posted a pic of my bare ass and took it down. I was flirting with someone I met on Instagram. Meant to send it by DM. Oops, my mistake. I apologize to anyone it offended. I’m a gay man. I flirt and chat with guys online sometimes. BIG DEAL!” So it comes as no surprise that he’s cheekily profiting from his highly publicized sext.
In the wee hours late Wednesday night (you can only guess what he was doing), he shared a clothed (this time) selfie wearing the new item. He captioned the photo, “I mean the t-shirt!! @marcjacobs Now available (THE T SHIRT!!!!) at a MARC JACOBS store near you.” He signed off with a winky face emoji. So fitting.
