We love that “Supernatural” actor Jared Padalecki’s son is a fan of painting his nails

Jared Padalecki and his wife may be a bit busy with a newborn right now, but the Supernatural actor still made time to highlight not only a good cause, but his oldest child as well. Padalecki posted a photo of his son Thomas Colton on Instagram that shows Tom holding a Padalecki Heart Tag from Pop & Suki. Yet, what we’re more lovingly distracted by is the fact that Padalecki’s son is wearing nail polish in the photo, proving that painting your nails isn’t just for females.

The Padalecki family just announced the birth of their daughter, Odette Elliott, on March 27th. This is the third child for Padalecki and his wife Genevieve Cortese Padalecki, since Odette has big brothers in 5-year-old Tom and 3-year-old Austin Sheperd.

In honor of Odette’s birth, the Padaleckis partnered with Pop & Suki to raise money for Planned Parenthood and the Human Rights Campaign — and that’s where the photo of Tom rocking nail polish comes in.

Firstly, Tom is adorable. Secondly, it’s so great that Padalecki doesn’t feel the need to mention his son’s nails. The Gilmore Girls actor is promoting the fact that his family is trying to raise money for charity, so that’s not his focus. And clearly, his young son having polish on his fingers is just a part of everyday life for this growing family.

While the conversation on Instagram has, unfortunately, become more about Tom’s nails and less about donating to Planned Parenthood and the Human Rights Campaign, most of the comments have been in support of Padalecki as a father. Some people even commented that the nail polish looks like it could be Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles-themed.

That makes sense since Tom is already an established TMNT fan.

The Padaleckis are using the attention that comes with a new baby to promote worthy causes, which already shows what awesome parents they are. And being completely fine with their son wearing nail polish and not setting gender expectations for him is just another way they are proving what a fabulous family they are.
