If you’re in the market for a cinematic yet melancholic song about relationships and sex then you’re in luck because Lana Del Rey and the Weeknd have shared their new song together, “Lust For Life,” and it’s practically perfect.

Rumors that the Weeknd would be featured on a new Lana Del Rey song began to surface earlier this year after some rather intriguing information was shared to ASCAP, a music publishing rights organization.

Following that news, Lana announced her new album, Lust For Life, with a fabulous and bewitching trailer video, and it’s safe to say that our excitement for new music was palpable.

Then, in an interview with Courtney Love in the latest issue of Dazed and Confused, Lana seemed to confirm the rumors that she had, indeed, done a song with the Weeknd.

And now Lana Del Rey and the Weeknd have shared their collaboration, “Lust For Life,” and it’s everything we hoped it might be.

Complete with Lana’s #throwback influences, and with nods to ’60s girlband The Shangri-Las, “Lust For Life” sees the singer exchange verses with the Weeknd as they meditate on matters of the night: relationships, sex, and death.

The singer announced the news in a surprise tweet, writing:

“Hey! So Starboy and I have a new song out, in fact it’s the title track of the record.”

The singer also shared a link to a YouTube video that sees the Weeknd and herself sitting atop the “H” of the Hollywood sign, something that’s also referenced in the songs lyrics.

This isn’t the first time that Lana Del Rey and the Weeknd have collaborated on a song together. Lana has appeared on the Weeknd’s past two albums, Beauty Behind the Madness and Starboy.

Meanwhile, Lana Del Rey’s upcoming album “Lust For Life” is expected for release later this year.
