Kirsten Storms Temporarily Leaves General Hospital Due to 'Skin Issues': 'We All Know in This Biz Appearance Is Important'

Kirsten Storms is taking a break from General Hospital.

The 32-year-old star broke the news in a Sunday Twitter post, writing that she is taking some time off from the show "due to some skin issues."

"My dr's say my breakouts are due to stress, but shouldn't take too long to get under control," Storms wrote in the post, noting that she is "on the better end of it now."

"However, it was becoming to difficult for GH to coverup," she continued. "And we all know in this biz appearance is important."

Days of Our Lives' Molly Burnett will reportedly take over the role temporarily, and Storms wrote in the tweet that she looks forward to "seeing Molly on the screen" and she takes "the next few weeks to heal."

Storms, who has been on the show since 2005, is eager to get back to playing Maxie Jones.

"You will see me again in no time," she wrote.

The news comes less than two months after Storms dropped another bombshell in April – announcing that she and her husband of almost three years Brandon Barash are divorcing.

Thank you so much for all of the support. xoxo @brandonjbarash

"We are splitting due to the cliché irreconcilable differences, but we're splitting amicably," the mom of one told Soap Opera Digest in a statement then.

"We have every intention of remaining a family through this and successfully co-parenting our kid, [Harper Rose], and retaining a friendship in the efforts of raising her in a healthy environment."
