What Kim Kardashian Wore When North Was Conceived
Kim Kardashian is known for having a pretty sexy sense of style - and the dress she wore on the night North West was conceived is no exception.
In an interview for Kim's app, Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing recently discussed some of his favorite looks that he's designed for the reality star since meeting her at the Met Ball in 2013 - and ultimately ended up revealing some very intimate details about the night of North's conception.
"My first meeting with Kim in three words, I would say surprising, I would say electric, and I would say love," he said.
The designer then went on to discuss his first design for Kim, a Marie Antoinette-style costume for her bachelorette party.
"This is a memory I will never never forget," he said. "She wanted something really unique and really special for a day that was special. So, I kind of create that Marie Antoinette costume and it was really really beautiful ... She’s a unique woman and that dress was unique as well so it was really special to me."
But after giving it some thought, Olivier realized that he'd actually been mistaken about the first design he'd ever created for Kim. In fact, he'd designed a dress for her to wear to the Angel Ball in October 2012, before he'd even met her - and as he tells it, that evening was pretty significant for Kim and her husband Kanye West.
"I think the first that I made for her was not the bachelorette one, it was a long, electric blue dress that Kanye requested," he said. "And you know what is the most amazing thing about this dress that - I don’t know if I can say it but I’m going to say it, I’m sorry Kim I want to say - is the night where North was conceived. I don’t know if I can say, maybe it’s a secret but I know that Kanye told me. So, I just wanted to share with you guys."
As Refinery29 points out, the math isn't totally out of the question: The Angel Ball was on October 22, 2012, and North was born about eight months later, on June 15, 2013. So could it be that this dress is actually a small part of the reason that North exists?! Of course, only Kim and Kanye know for sure - but feel free to judge for yourself below.
