Killer Photos From Way Above on Pilot's Blog

Even at 35,000 feet, photographer Malcolm (M.C.) Andrews looks up to the Earth, not down at it. A commercial pilot who has “spent most of my adult life in an airplane cockpit,” his reverence for nature is obvious on his blog, The Aerial Horizon. It’s loaded with incredible aerial photos he’s taken high above the Earth – so high that in some of them you can see the edge of the atmosphere, the planet’s curvature, and the dark expanse of space.

Andrews isn’t being a show-off – in fact, his captions read like a love poem to our planet. For instance, regarding the upcoming switch from Daylight Saving Time, he writes under this photo, “As we contemplate setting our clocks back and the promise of gaining an extra hour of sleep, I have a different perspective…we wander around the proximate heavens under the influence of sunlight, forgetting the human belief that we can control time.”
