Sneakers with a gown? Katie Holmes just proved it works.
The actress hit the red carpet at the premiere of her upcoming miniseries The Kennedys: After Camelot in Beverly Hills earlier this week, where she glowed in a blush colored satin, velvet, and lace Alberta Ferretti number that she paired with strappy nude sandals. A whimsical braided updo, bold lip hue, assortment of delicate jewelry, and a sleek box clutch finished off her winning look.
But as she made her way to the after-party, the 38-year-old swapped out her heels for something a little more practical--a pair of white and red classic Adidas kicks ($80; nordstrom.com).

Holmes took to Instagram today to give a shoutout to her outfit, and posted a picture of herself in the gown and tennis shoes. "Sometimes you just have to be comfortable! Dress by @albertaferretti shoes @adidasoriginals," she captioned the image.
