Kate Upton May Star in ‘Harry Potter’ Spin-Off

Kate Upton’s accomplished quite a lot in her relatively short life: She’s scored two Sports Illustrated covers and one Vogue, landed several high-profile fashion and beauty campaigns, starred alongside Cameron Diaz on the big screen (not to mention, in many boys’ dreams), and now, she may very well be heading to Hogwarts.

According to The Wrap, Upton, 22, is being eyed for a role in the upcoming film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, a spinoff of sorts to J.K. Rowling’s blockbuster Harry Potter series (though it’s set prior to HP) that’s intended to be the first in a trilogy.

Produced by Warner Bros. and directed by David Yates, the movie—which takes place in NYC seven decades before Mr. Potter is born—centers on the life of “magiczoologist” Newt Scamander, who authors a Hogwarts textbook titled Fantastic Beasts. Oscar-winner Eddie Redmayne has reportedly been cast as Scamander, with parts still available for his wife, Porpentina, and Porpentina’s older sister, Queenie.

Upton is rumored to be up for Queenie (alongside Katherine Waterston and Elizabeth Debicki), while Saoirse Ronan, Dakota Fanning, Lili Simmons, and Alison Sudol are contenders for ‘Tina. (So many blondes, so little time.)

Despite being known mostly as a model, Upton’s acting career is on the rise: In addition to 2014′s The Other Woman, she’s been busy filming next year’s road trip comedy The Layover, also starring William H. Macy and Kal Penn. And with Fantastic Beasts due in theaters in November 2016, it’d be sure to keep her calendar filled up. Seeing as she’s already a fantasy figure… maybe a fantasy film is exactly what Upton’s résumé’s been missing?
