Kate Middleton Steps Out in Her New Signature Color

If Kate Middleton has found a signature shade, it’s a rather regal red. From Alexander McQueen to Marchesa Notte, plus Preen by Thornton Bregazzi, the Duchess of Cambridge has stood out in the color again and again. Earlier today, at the opening of the Global Academy in Hayes, England, she appeared with her husband, Prince William, and brother-in-law, Prince Harry, wearing a sleek scarlet suit from Armani.

The skirt set had a few sportswear influences, including a zippered front and dart detailing along the bodice, but the overall fit and finish was polished—a departure from previous suits by Luisa Spagnoli and Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini, which felt more military-inspired. Smartly, Middleton stuck to her signature accessories: an Etui nude clutch and Rupert Sanderson coordinating stilettos, a demi-parure suite of jewelry from Mappin & Webb, and her requisite Cartier watch and Garrard engagement ring.
