Can’t decide if you should wear red to work on Valentine’s Day? Draw your business-casual Valentine’s inspiration from none other than the Duchess of Cambridge, who stepped out in a double-breasted red jacket over a black turtleneck on the 14th. If Kate Middleton worked red into her outfit today, you can too.

On her third visit to the RAF Air Force Cadets, Middleton got festive in the $1,515 Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini jacket. In keeping with the theme of the day, the jacket is embossed with gold buttons and wide red lapels. She coordinated her black turtleneck, black gloves, and black Zara jeans. She finished the outfit with the Stuart Weitzman “Half n Half” stretch rider boots that have become synonymous with her polished look.

According to a fan site, this isn’t the first time Middleton has stepped out in Philosophy. She chose a white baby doll jacket and skirt for an official portrait last year. Do we spy a new favorite for the Duchess?

Middleton has been known to make festive plans on Valentine’s Day in the past. In 2012, she visited Liverpool Children’s Hospital to make Valentine’s cards with the children.

The one sad side effect of a V-Day on duty? According to Vogue, Middleton most likely won’t be meeting Prince William in time for a romantic celebration. Middleton has been spending more time with the Cadets since she became the Royal Patron and Honorary Air Commandant of the Air Cadet Organisation. The base is an hour and a half away from Kensington Palace, which means she probably won’t be spending much time with family today. But we sympathize — sometimes you just have to work through a date.
