Karlie Kloss Is Kaia Gerber's New York Fashion Week "Big Sis"

Cindy Crawford's daughter is making her New York Fashion Week debut.

Karlie Kloss is no stranger to walking the runway, and now she's here to play fairy godmother to up-and-coming catwalk star Kaia Gerber.

Just a few days after her 16th birthday, Kaia will make her debut at New York Fashion Week. It's not clear exactly which shows she'll pop up in, though perhaps Karlie and Kaia will appear together on the Marc Jacobs stage, since Kaia is the face of Marc Jacobs Beauty?

Both models took to Instagram to share their special bond, posting matching behind-the-scenes pics in robes and slippers. Kaia wrote, "big sis ❤️ @karliekloss" while Karlie Kloss captioned her pic, "This chicks gonna take her first #NYFW (and the 🌎) by storm 💥 luv ya @kaiagerber."

There's no one better to guide young Kaia through the modeling industry than a seasoned modeling veteran like Karlie, who recently spoke out about mixed messages casting directors can give models. She said, "I was called both too fat and too thin by a casting agent on the same day," and added that she "[doesn't] want to please anyone but [herself]."

And Karlie is no stranger to serving as a role model for the next generation; she started her "Kode With Klossy" computer science summer camps last year and joined scientist Bill Nye on his new Netflix show Bill Nye Saves the World as a special correspondent.

Not that Kaia needs any help — she recently told Teen Vogue that she feels a responsibility to set a good example as well. "It is so key to me to be a good role model for young girls and someone their mom would want them to look up to,” she said. "I now reach so many people, and it’s hard for them to know what is real. I don’t take any platform I have lightly. It’s so important to send a good message."
