Justin Bieber Confronts Paparazzo, Asks “Why Were You So Mean?”

And they’re basically BFFs now.

Justin Bieber is certainly not a stranger to the paparazzi; the pop star is regularly targeted by photographers, some of whom have badgered him with rude and invasive questions. And sometimes his fans are no better (remember the time a swarm of teens gathered around the singer while he was just trying to eat lunch?)

Being that much in the public eye is undoubtedly taxing, and even celebrities experience the emotional toll of having such limited privacy. That might be why Justin decided to confront one photographer to ask a really simple question: "Why were you so mean?"

According to TMZ, the Biebs recently crossed paths with a paparazzo who was present during the singer's recent car accident last month, where Justin accidentally hit another photographer with his pickup truck. In a new video, we can see Justin in the driver's seat of his car, calling over to the "mean" photographer in question.

"Why were you so mean that day?" Justin asked. "The day of the crash."

The paparazzo replied: "I was so bummed; that was my friend, man. I didn't know what happened."

But Justin calmly continued, explaining that the photog was "yelling profanity" and it was "really, really mean." The singer added that the paparazzo didn't make the situation better by shouting; in fact, he was making it more chaotic.

As the video continues, we can see the two guys talk it out. "Next time, instead of saying such profanity and mean stuff, just try to help the situation," Justin suggested. Later, the photographer complimented Justin, telling him that he "proved to everybody that he wasn't just a one-hit wonder." The two eventually parted ways on a positive note.

It just goes to show that sometimes calmly expressing your emotions can go a long way in terms of resolving conflict. Justin made his points clearly and politely, allowing the photographer to see that he could have handled the situation better. All's well that ends well, and who knows? This could be the start of a very unlikely friendship.
