Julianne Moore defies her 61 years in plunging velvet gown at Venice Film Festival

Julianne Moore is a woman of many talents. Not only has she starred in numerous blockbusters and independent films over her nearly 30-year career, and serves as this year’s president of the jury for the 79th annual Venice Film Festival, but she has a knack for killing it on the red carpet, too.
Moore, 61, stunned on the red carpet for Thursday’s premiere of Tár, a psychological drama starring Cate Blanchett as the titular character, Lydia Tár, a world-famous composer and conductor.
The jury president's floor-length black velvet gown by Armani Privé, Giorgio Armani’s haute couture branch, featured a plunging V-shaped neckline which allowed room for her glistening Cartier jewels.
The column gown proved an all-black outfit is anything but boring as the plunging V-neck featured an architectural structure at the bodice.
A plunging V-neckline and sleeveless, skin-baring top was offset by a soft velvet fabric leaving an overall look that was demure dressing at its finest.

The mother-of-two wore her natural auburn hair in a straight style, tucked behind her ears, and kept her make-up simple with a subtle brown smokey eye and nude pink lip, which allowed her stunning skin to shine through.
The Still Alice actor started the festival in a spotted Alaïa gown for a cocktail party, before donning a glistening sequin caped gown by Valentino for the international film festival’s opening ceremony.
Moore revealed some of her insider secrets to keeping herself looking so youthful earlier this year in an interview with The Sunday Times Style.
The Oscar-winner admitted that it was her mother who preempted some of the best ways to slow the ageing process, including staying out of the sun.
“My mother has a lot to do with it because she wouldn’t let us go in the sun,” she explained. “She couldn’t be in the sun and I look just like her. I wear sunscreen on my face every day and a hat too.”
Whilst the actor told the magazine that she has regular facials, including the beauty treatments microneedling and radio frequency, she also described the sometimes ageist industry “silly” when it is a "privilege to continue to age.”
