Unlike other privileged teenagers who attend debutante balls to mark their official entrée into society, Lily-Rose Depp’s coming out was at a Chanel show. With her mother, Vanessa Paradis, the teenager took in Karl Lagerfeld’s Paris-Salzburg Metiers d'Art collection in New York wearing an an embellished midriff-baring top and pencil skirt. Since then, she’s caught the attention of fashion’s elite and even Hollywood, but the bright spotlight shining on the 16-year-old has her father, actor Johnny Depp, switched on concerned parent mode.

“To be honest, I’m quite worried,” the face of Dior’s latest fragrance told Germany’s Gala magazine. “I wasn’t expecting all this to happen to Lily-Rose, especially not at this age.”

In just a short amount of time, Lily-Rose has sat front row at a Haute Couture show playing poker, come out as “not-straight,” become the face of Chanel eyewear, been featured in a Vogue Paris editorial, and landed roles in multiple movies. A meteoric rise like that would give any parent anxiety attacks. But the Black Mass star does recognize this: “It’s her passion and she’s having fun.”
