Jessica Simpson Wears Vintage to ‘Hunger Games’ Premiere

Everybody is talking about the killer red carpet looks from the Hunger Games MonkingJay – Part 1 premiere, but I’d like to take a moment to pen an ode to Jessica Simpson. The girl who “never felt so beautiful” with “nothing but a t-shirt on” never looked so stunning as she did last night in a vintage 1970s gold silk dress. There’s something to be said about a celebrity who chooses to wear vintage on the red carpet. The choice exudes an air of confidence, class, and timelessness. While this look is a far call from her Daisy Duke denim days (even though the exaggerated slit still allows for a major flash of leg), the 34-year-old mother of two couldn’t have been any more on-trend. She championed the barely-there makeup look, sported a straight yet playful lob, and accessorized with just the right amount of Neil Lane bangles (swoon!). Most important, though, is the fact that Simpson was totally in her element. Case in point: She wasn’t afraid to show some playful PDA for the cameras with her husband, ex-NFL player Eric Johnson, which simply means that the singer was comfortable in her own skin. Simpson might have been there to support sister Ashlee Simpson’s husband, Evan Ross, who starts in the film, but there’s no question in my mind that she stole the show.
