The Moonman is getting a high fashion makeover.

Designer Jeremy Scott, Creative Director of Moschino and occasional-Miley Cyrus collaborator, has redesigned the iconic Moonman statuette that will be given out to winners of the 2015 MTV Music Video Awards on Aug 30.

The usually silver award, inspired by MTV’s commercials when the network first debuted in the early ‘80s, is now decked out in a rainbow-colored suit, peace sign pendant, and Jeremy Scott for Adidas winged sneakers. His flag has also been updated with retro TV color bars. It’s pretty funky all-around.

Though this is the first time the Moonman’s gone Roy G. Biv, he’s actually been made-over before. In 2013, Brooklyn artist KAWS cast the award in chrome and swapped his space helmet for a cartoonish skull-and-crossbones.

Seeing as Scott is arguably one of the music biz’s favorite designers—he’s found dedicated fans in Katy Perry, Rita Ora, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande, and Cyrus, who’s hosting this year’s show—it’s only fitting that he’d be the guy to give Mr. Moon a new look.
