Jackie Evancho Dons Unique White Coat for Inauguration

Jackie Evancho bravely sang the National Anthem on Friday to the millions around the globe who tuned in to the United States’ presidential inauguration.

For the highly anticipated performance, the 16-year-old singer styled her hair in loose curls and wore a sleek white coat that featured jeweled embellishments and pearl button detailing. The coat also featured an intricate design on the back that used patriotic colors.

Users took to Twitter to compliment Evancho not only on a well-delivered performance but also on her unique coat.

The singer noticeably matched Tiffany and Ivanka Trump, who were both also dressed in white — the color often associated with the women’s suffrage movement. Tiffany opted for a white double-breasted custom-designed coat by Taoray Wang, while her older sister, Ivanka, looked stunning in an asymmetrical Oscar de la Renta white jacket and white pants.

Evancho, a runner-up on Season 5 of America’s Got Talent, has received a considerable amount of flak for accepting the invitation to perform at the inauguration, but she remained confident in her decision. When asked by USA Today in the days before her performance why she had decided to perform at President Trump’s inauguration, Evancho said, “Because it’s an honor to perform for my country and I don’t really do politics. So I don’t let that stand in between an honor to perform for the country.”

“I’m 16,” she told The Huffington Post. “I don’t really pay much attention to politics to begin with, so it’s not a thought that crossed my mind when this opportunity was offered.”
