In a completely moving and totally vulnerable post, Instagram model Megan Jayne Crabbe (otherwise known as @bodyposipanda) was refreshingly real about body image, confidence, and deciding to love her body (despite what others may think). You’ll want to send her words your friends ASAP – because who doesn’t need a little body positivity every once in a while?

In the post, Megan began:

“I love this photo. I know I’m not supposed to – just look at all those ‘flaws.'”

What Megan has to say is so important because of the non-stop body hate that’s been normalized in our society. Fortunately, we’re finally seeing a shift in how we talk about our bodies – which has been helped along by people like Megan, who is open and honest about her experiences.

“There was a time when I couldn’t stand the thought of existing in a body like this. When I would have rather starved myself to death than see so much softness when I looked in the mirror.”

“These days, I wouldn’t change a thing. Not a single crease or line, not a single dimple or scar. Every part is how it’s supposed to be, and I’m done fighting my body for someone else’s idea of perfection. I’m not buying those lies anymore. And I’ve learned something really important along the way, something that I want you all to know.”

It’s also hugely revolutionary to see Megan calling out the forces that be for making us feel bad about our bodies. We all have different body types, and all of those bodies are good bodies. We all deserve to step beyond the lies about the “right” kind of body and to love the ones we have.

“You are the only person who gets to decide how you feel about yourself. You get to decide what perfection is. Not the media, not society, not the person who first made you feel worthless because of your reflection. YOU.”

“The power to decide that is all yours. Take your power back.”

Megan, we are *major* fans. This is such a powerful message – and such an important one, too.

In the name of all things body positivity, we’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for Megan’s future wise words.
