Hillary Clinton Makes a Killer Dolly Parton

One of the ongoing attacks against Hillary Clinton in her campaign to be President is the idea that she isn’t relatable to voters. But the former Secretary of State (and whoever’s running her social media accounts) are on a mission to change that.
In honor of #ThrowbackThursday, HRC & Co. shared an Instagram of the Democratic candidate and her husband, Bill, at Clinton’s 48th birthday party in 1995. But this wasn’t your typical pizza party with an ice cream sundae bar: Hil’s was Dolly Parton-themed!
“#TBT to the time Hillary had a Dolly Parton-themed birthday party in 1995. 🎤” reads the caption of the photo, which shows Clinton kitted out in a curly blonde wig, cowboy hat, blue eyeshadow, white puffy shirt, and gingham skirt. (Missing is Parton’s signature cleavage but… we’ll let that one slide!)
She’s also holding a microphone—which we sincerely hope means there was some karaoke involved… and that someone was around to film it.
Wonder if Parton’s classic working woman anthem “9 to 5″—which includes the lyrics “For service and devotion / You would think that I / Would deserve a fat promotion”—is what Clinton listens to to pump herself up before rallies and debates?
