Gigi Hadid has a message for body-shamers who criticized her weight after she shared a bikini selfie on Instagram. Some haters decided that Gigi was too-thin and decided to say something about it to her (in the form of trolling, of course). Gigi had THIS to say to them.

“It’s called growing up. Bodies change as girls become women,” she wrote in response to a comment about her slim figure. “Your comment won’t get me down, but next time, please think about the young women who may read body-judgment comments and judge themselves as they see their bodies growing and therefore naturally changing, too.”

Hadid, who began modeling four years ago at age 17, has faced criticism throughout the course of her career. When she first rose to stardom, it was often suggested that she’d become successful as a model only because of her massive social media following (she has more than 21 million followers on Instagram), since her body was considered “curvier” than the average runway model and therefore undesirable.

In 2015, she clapped back at haters by sharing a confident, body-positive message on Instagram and praising women she loves—of all shapes and sizes—using the hashtag #AllDifferentAllPerfect on Twitter.

In her recent Instagram comment she wrote,

“Having my body judged over the span of the four teen-to-woman years has really shown me the human tendency to label and make uneducated judgment. … I loved my body as a 17-year-old athlete and I love my body now. Yes, I’ve lost some ‘baby fat,’ but muscle mass from my intensive volleyball training in high school has changed over the years into lean muscle from boxing, and work stress can have its effect, naturally, but purposefully changing my body has never been my thing.”

Her final word to body-shamers? The pointed, and delicious, IG post she shared a day after posting her bikini pic.
