“Forbes” just revealed 2016’s highest-paid actress

If there’s one list most people dream about seeing their name on, it’s probably Forbes’ annual Celebrity 100 list. You know, that list that ranks the highest-earning celebs in the world? That one! The publication just released its annual numbers, and Emma Stone claimed top spot as the highest-paid actress in the world.

We’re not at all surprised by this, because Stone has had an amazing 12 months. She won the Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role when she starred alongside Ryan Gosling in the movie La La Land. And according to Forbes, it was her stunning performance as Mia that helped her surpass Jennifer Lawrence on the list.

Stone was the highest-paid actress between June 2016 and 2017, making $26 million pretax as ranked by Forbes.

Emma’s earnings increased by 160% in 2016, also making this her biggest year ever in terms of finances. Forbes also noted that her income increased more than that of anybody else on the list. Get it, girl!

Jennifer Aniston snagged second place with $25.5 million, which Forbes attributed in part to her various endorsement deals. Jennifer Lawrence came in third with $24 million (she was previously number one, thanks to her Hunger Game franchise earnings).

Finally, rounding out the top five highest-paid actresses this year, we have Melissa McCarthy ($18 million) and Mila Kunis ($15.5 million).

At the end of the day, we’re less interested in the actual numbers and more inspired by the fact that all these actresses started out with nothing but dreams (and probably a variety of crappy jobs…if we recall, Emma Stone used to work in a dog bakery), and now they’ve actually MADE IT.

Let this be a reminder that we should go after what we want in life, despite the naysayers. Because you never know — one day you could be paid $26 million to tap dance with Ryan Gosling.
