It was close, but not the one.

Although we're fully aware of which dress Kylie Jenner wore to the 2017 Met Ball Gala, this sneak peek Life of Kylie clip shows the dress she decided not to wear.

The clip features a Versace champagne studded gown, which is described by the brand's representative as a "mermaid caged dress." The gown was inspired by Comme des Garcons's iconic mix of structure and technique, but with its flirty lingerie and cage detail, it still feels very Versace. According to the clip, the gown took about 350 hours of labor to make. Kylie FaceTimed her friend and hairstylist Tokyo Stylez for his opinion, and he shared it was "really sexy."

Despite the dress getting a stamp of approval from Tokyo and Kylie's assistant Victoria, to Kylie, the dress still didn't feel like the one. She then went on to try the second Versace gown (which ended up being a winner) which boasts about 7,000 crystals. Kylie is seen spinning around in the gown, while the Versace rep goes on to say "We added the fringe crystals for some drama because it’s the Met Gala.” Although Kylie liked the dress, it still didn't fit her the way she would like.

“This is really loose. It needs to be like this,” she added, grabbing her waist, “Where my body looks crazy. I need to kind of suffocate.”

After some alterations were done, Kylie was very happy with the end result. We can't wait to see what she wears in 2018.
