Dr. Seuss is Helping Drew Barrymore With Her Post-Baby Body

America loves Drew Barrymore for a lot of reasons: we watched her grow up, go through her rebel phase, fall in love, break up, and eventually settle down and have kids. Along the way, she’s always been one of the most candid celebrities in Hollywood. So it’s not shocking that the mother of two is coming clean about life after babies—her body after babies, to be more exact.

"After making two babies, holy cow, does your body do some crazy stuff!" the 40-year-old told Glamour magazine. “It’s hard to stay positive and love yourself. You feel like a kangaroo with a giant pouch; everything’s saggy and weird.”

Barrymore may feel like a kangaroo on the outside, but leave it to the always positive actress to point out there’s more to life than an extra stretchmark or two. “You think about how beautiful it is that you’re able to make children,” she says. “When I lose sight of that, I exercise, read Dr. Seuss’s Oh, the Places You’ll Go! and spend time with my kids. Then I start to see things that are bigger than myself.”

It’s safe to say that struggling with one’s body image can affect anyone, post-partum or not. And Barrymore’s advice is poignant: What better way to get over the hump—literally—than with a good sweat and Dr. Suess? Now that’s one diet worth trying!
