Don’t believe the rumors, Sofia Vergara and Julie Bowen truly *are* friends
People love to create rumors about the cast of Modern Family. But, one famous piece of gossip was definitely debunked — despite what you heard, yes, Julie Bowen and Sofia Vergara truly are friends both on-set and off. While everyone likes hearing about a good feud, you probably won’t see one develop between these two talented ladies.
Bowen recently appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to set the record straight.
“Every night I get a call or email saying, ‘So and so trash mag will be running a story that you’ — well this week it’s ‘you were icy to Sofia Vergara because you were jealous of her fame,’” Bowen said on the show.
While sometimes co-stars feud, Vergara and Bowen are so tight that they borrow each other’s clothes. (Would you really offer your shirts up to your enemy? Probably not.) After Bowen mentioned that she e-mailed Vergara about how to address these silly rumors, Vergara offered up both her wisdom, and her blouse.
“We talk and I’m like ‘What should I say?’ Cause we’re friends, I’m like, ‘What should I say? You’re funny. She goes, ‘Aye please, just borrow my blouse,'” Bowen said, using a Vergara impersonation (she’s not the only Modern Family cast member to adopt one.) “So I’m borrowing her blouse.”
Sweet!
Bowen thinks that the rumors start, because there’s a false misconception that two women can’t work together without some sort of rivalry. Even back in 2013, Bowen had a lot of questions tossed her way about Vergara, possibly for soundbites that would insinuate some sort of tension.
In an interview with OMG Yahoo, Bowen said that people assumed “She must be a handful because of the way she looks,” but quickly shut that down and said that Vergara was “Not a handful except for a handful of delight.”
Can we hang out with these two sometime?
