Did Adnan Do It? Visit the Real-Life Locations Featured in "Serial"

In the Yahoo Travel offices, Thursday is now officially referred to as “Serial Day.”

Serial is a free weekly podcast that has taken the listening world by storm. The podcast investigates a 15-year-old murder in Baltimore County, Maryland, and questions whether justice was really served. In 1999, 17-year-old Hae Min Lee was strangled to death, and her ex-boyfriend, Adnan Syed, is now serving a life sentence for the crime. Sarah Koenig, the host and producer of the podcast, dives back into the details of the case, interviewing friends of the teens, retracing their steps, and even talking with the man accused of the murder.

For those of you who haven’t jumped on the wild, dramatic ride, you’re missing out. According to Apple, Serial is currently the most popular podcast in the world and was the fastest to reach 5 million downloads and streams in iTunes history.

Might we suggest you binge-listen to the first eight episodes? You won’t regret it, we guarantee.

In the meantime, the Yahoo Travel team was curious to visit some of the pivotal locations mentioned in the police timeline. From the scene of the crime to the site where Hae’s body was found, these are the mysterious locations that serve as the backdrops for Serial. Warning: Post Contains Spoilers
