Delta Air Lines Has Opened Up Its Private Jet Service to SkyMiles Members

If you have enough loyalty points on Delta Air Lines, flying is about to get far more luxurious.
The carrier has announced that starting today, Delta SkyMiles members can now use points to book travel on its fleet of more than 70 private jets.
With this new option, SkyMiles becomes the only major airline loyalty program to provide its members the opportunity to redeem miles for a private jet experience, said Karen Zachary, the managing director of the SkyMiles program.
With 2.5 million miles, SkyMiles members can purchase a $25,000 Jet Card, which can be redeemed for travel on Delta Private Jets. Previously, the starting price point for a Jet Card was $100,000.
Members who redeem miles for a Jet Card will have access to the luxury and convenience of flying on their own time and schedule, said David Sneed, executive vice president and chief operating officer at Delta Private Jets.
The Jet Card guarantees a simplified booking process, guaranteed availability, and locked-in rates for flights. The card also can be used for travel on any of the regular commercial flights operated by Delta.
