Delia*s Is Rising From the Dead

If, since dELiA*s went bankrupt and closed its last set of doors late last year, your heart’s been left with a giant, inflatable-couch and ringer tee-sized hole—get ready to freak. Out.

It’s back!

As Racked.com first noticed, the now-defunct catalog and chain store that defined many a millennial’s formative years posted an Instagram recently of some homeroom-ready looks, captioned, “News flash! @Delias will be coming back-to-school with you! Best part? Online only = ALWAYS OPEN! #DeliasForever #BackToSchool.” A second post, featuring what’s most certainly a totally spontaneous convo between two as-yet unidentified dELiA*s fans, reads, “It’s true, we’ll see ya in August! Spread the word and tag your #BFF! Who’s excited? #DeliasForever #BackToSchool.”

Additionally, Delias.com now features a hot pink and black “Coming Soon” graphic, along with #DeliasForever. Which makes us wonder: what, exactly, is coming soon? Could it be the wide-legged jeans of our youth? The glitter lipgloss that defined a generation? The slim-fit sweatshirt with the thumb holes that sold out in my size by the time my order form reached the Delia’s warehouse? We can only hope.

Realistically, we have no idea how re-opening its e-commerce branch will help to resurrect the current dinosaur that is Delia*s—but we can’t say we’re mad about it. If the Internet eats up anything, it’s nostalgia. And there’s no denying that Delia*s, in all its late-’90s, asterisked glory, fits into that category quite nicely.
