Your mind starts to wander — at first to “anywhere but here,” but then to exotic, faraway lands where your everyday problems and stress melt in the presence of true paradise. …Kerið Crater Lake!!! As if there weren’t enough beautiful spots to check out in Iceland, they had to one up everyone with this lake. While most crater lakes are caused by huge volcanic explosions, scientists believe that Kerið was formed when a cone volcano caved in on itself. We love a couple of things about this lake. One – the unearthly vibe it creates, and two – that is is along the “golden circle,” making it a perfect place to stop and lunch while you are visiting other spectacular Icelandic destinations.
