Why this dad gives flowers to his 15-month-old daughter
The Ace Family’s YouTube channel, which has over 2 million subscribers, is the home of family antics from Austin, Catherine, and their baby Elle. The videos have centered around at-home pranks and even a filmed proposal. But their latest viral video centers on Austin’s plan for his baby daughter.
In a video on its way to 1 million views, Austin does something simple — he visits a florist to buy flowers for his wife and daughter. “I think I’m going to do red for my princess, and white for my queen,” he says.
After he reveals that one of the bouquets is for his baby daughter, Austin preempts the trolling he assumes will follow. “I know some of you negative people are probably wondering why I’m getting my 15-month-old daughter flowers.” he says. “If her dad, which is me, makes her feel like a princess at a very young age then as she gets older that’s all she’s going to know so when that time comes when a dude comes into her life if he doesn’t treat me just like, daddy bye bye.”
Austin races home to wake up his family with the flowers — and they’re just as happy with the gift as he hoped. The sweet and simple gesture has 99,000 likes on YouTube and 15,000 comments.
Fans are enamored with Austin’s devotion to his family and with his adorable baby girl. “The love & pride that Austin has for his little baby girl is the most incredible thing ever,” wrote a user who goes by Jade L. “It’s beautiful how you treat your daughter Austin and your moral for doing it is amazing #teachhertheway,” seconded Fee King.
Baby’s first flowers might not be something Elle will remember, but she seems as thrilled with the gift as a 15-month-old could be. “These are for you, OK?” says Austin. If her baby smile means anything, Elle totally gets it.
