Courteney Cox Talks Wedding Rumors, Directing & Why “Friends” Reunion Won’t Happen

Courteney Cox wants to put the Friends reunion rumors to rest: “Dear lord, people, let it go! We’re not doing it,” she tells our own Nick Axelrod in this episode of “I Yahoo’d Myself.” But, a Monica Geller spinoff isn’t out of the question: “Oh, Monica is going to do a movie…It’s going to be called ‘Hanging With Monica,’” Cox says. “People will be running to the theater!”

Cox, whose directorial debut Just Before I Go is out April 24, might be joking about the Monica movie, but she’s serious when it comes to the plans for her upcoming nuptials to fiancé Johnny McDaid. Her daughter Coco “is probably going to sing something at the wedding,” she says. “She also sang at David [Arquette’s] wedding a couple weeks ago… I think she’s probably going to be a wedding singer. She’s really booking them right now!” As to whether Coco will sing a duet with her mom’s pal Ed Sheeran, “She might,” Cox reveals. “I could probably make that happen.”

But back to her Friends. We know that the actress-turned-director still parties with Jennifer Aniston, but what about the rest of the group? Despite many efforts, Cox says the six cast members haven’t been in the same room, at the same time since the show ended 10 years ago. “We’ve gotten about 80 percent there, but there’s always one person who flakes at the end.” Who’s to blame? Watch the video above to find out, and be sure to stay till the end, when we ask Cox to take Buzzfeed’s “Which ‘Friends’ Character Are You” quiz.
