Your Complete Guide to Dressing Like a Gilmore Girl

It’s hard to believe that the first episode of Gilmore Girls aired 16 years ago on the WB, the now-defunct TV network that also gave life to such other beloved teen dramas as Dawson’s Creek, Smallville, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

I was one of the millions of viewers who tuned in weekly from 2000 to 2007 for a snapshot into the life of Lorelai and Rory Gilmore — the best mother-and-daughter relationship ever (according to diehard fans).

By the time the series ended, creator Amy Palladino was no longer involved with it. Some viewers didn’t think the ending felt quite right. Fortunately, cult fans received the best news of 2016 when it was announced Netflix would be reviving Gilmore Girls. Even better, nearly all of the show’s original cast members, as well as Palladino, were onboard.

The revival takes place years later in the Gilmores’ lives, and is divided into four 90-minute episodes, signifying the four seasons.

Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life debuted during the Thanksgiving holiday and is available for streaming now on Netflix.

To prime you for the revival (if you haven’t watched it yet) or to keep your mood high on the Gilmore Girls’ spirit (if you’ve already watched), we rounded up five Lorelai- and Rory-inspired outfits to help you remember why the world fell in love with them in the first place.
