Nike and Converse just got together to create a pair of sporty kicks to crush all the others out there. In a fashionable amalgamation of the classic Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars and the new Nike Flyknit technology, the two companies have designed the Chuck Taylor All Star x Nike Flyknit. Aka sneaker heaven. In six colorways, these bright high-tops are just the thing your spring wardrobe needed to kick it into high gear.
How did this marriage come together, you ask? Bet you didn’t know that Nike actually owns converse—and has for nearly 10 years! A few shoe designs have come from the match made in heaven previously, like the retro-looking Converse running shoe and the more-cushioned Chuck Taylor All Star II. That said, no update to the brands’ lines has been quite as exciting as this one.
Adidas and Nike have both come out with this beloved knit texture (Adidas’ version is named the Primeknit) and, while we do have quite the collection of white low-tops that we’ve been known to style with everything from denim to cocktail dresses, there’s nothing quite like that new pair of sneaks that have such an awesome design you know you’ll be turning heads everywhere you go.
Personally, we have our eye on the bright red pair—to style with jeans and a white T-shirt. And maybe the blue as well—it’ll go so well with that new denim skirt we just bought. Ok, would it be bad if we added another white pair to the mix? You can never have too many…Clearly we’re going to have to set an alarm for the sneaker style’s release date and stock up on them all.
The sneakers will go on sale on April 27, so mark your calendars. And, if you want a constant reminder, knowing full-well the style is sure to sell out as fast as you can recite its epically long name, Converse is counting down the time—to the second—until you can click “add to cart.”
