This (Fake) Chanel Bag Looks Good Enough to Eat
When India Menuez carried a cross-body bag in the shape of a bagel that looked good enough to eat on the red carpet to Chanel No. 5’s party Monday night, no one batted an eye that the double C’s on the actress’s purse were actually a knockoff. The totally convincing fake food accessory, which is cleverly titled ‘Bagel No. 5.,’ is an art piece created by Chloe Wise, whose other works have been equally tongue in cheek. A phony Prada Challah Bread Bag that she calls ‘Ain’t No Challah Back(pack) Girl’ and a ‘Louis Vuitton Baguette.’
But before you go eating your feelings over the fact that the sesame bagel and schmear bag isn’t for sale, there are plenty of other nosh-themed accessories on the market. From Chanel and Jeremy Scott to ASOS and Betsey Johnson, it’s possible to wear your favorite food and eat it, too.
