Vistas such as this were the theater of Alonso Quijano (aka: Don Quixote), and his companion and squire, Sancho Panza. Don Quixote, riding his aging horse Rosinate and Sancho, riding his donkey Dapples, sallied forth across the plain of La Mancha on their “quixotic” mission of tilting at windmills.
The tale of their adventures has given the world a king’s ransom of metaphors, adjectives and Broadway plays. This story was written by Miguel de Cervantes in 1605 and is alive and well in an ebook near you.
