Even though you're still putting together those stylish cold-weather ensembles for the brisk months ahead, it’s not too early to start shopping for some of the spring trends from major British designer boutiques. The catwalks at the latest Spring/Summer 2013 London Fashion Week showcased bold new prints and head-turning ensembles that will chase away the winter blues in no time.

Some of these catwalk looks are perfect for more than one kind of figure, and you'll find plenty of layerable pieces you can use during other seasons. Here are just three of the hottest trends to shop for from London Fashion Week:

1. Horizontal stripes

Horizontal stripes can add drama to your daytime and nighttime looks, and many pieces we saw on the runway are very versatile. Designers such as Temperley, Clements Ribeiro and Holly Fulton incorporated them in various widths and color combinations.

Go with a striped polo jersey long-sleeve top with a pencil skirt on casual days and a horizontal stripe collared dress with a looser fit for a dressier look. Horizontal stripes can be a great way to add a modern twist to your wardrobe and try something new for the season. Mix this trend with other prints and designs like checks or plaid pieces for a runway-inspired look.

2. Floral print dresses

Floral prints are back for yet another season, so be sure to bring at least one maxi dress or halter-style dress in a bold, vibrant print on those spring and summer travels. Lines such as PPQ Clothing and Issa incorporated flowers ranging from small and delicate to large and abstract.

If you want something that doesn't bare all, go with a colorful maxi print dress with a contrasting color belt. Pleated maxi dress styles are a great option for larger figures and for masking flaws. Try an A-line strapless dress with a colorful floral print design for those spring soirees and garden parties in the city. These looks can be paired with nude flats or gleaming metallic heels for the complete ensemble.

3. Safari chic

Perfect for those casual days when you're shopping the streets of London or enjoying local fairs and festivals during the spring, safari style is back for another season — but with a modern twist. This is the season to try a safari-inspired suit or structured blouses and dresses in tan, dark green and beige hues. Look for lightweight fabrics and more fitted styles to show off your figure during the warmer months.
