‘Black Venus’ Beyoncé Debuts More Spectacular Pregnancy Shots in ‘I Have Three Hearts’ Tribute
After quite literally breaking the Internet on Wednesday with her pregnancy announcement, Beyoncé is clearly the gift that keeps on giving.
The mistress of mystique, the empress of fecundity, clearly wasn’t finished with blessing her fans this year, because she released more outtakes from her photo shoot on her website.
In the nostalgic shoot, titled “I Have Three Hearts,” she revisited some of her favorite visual themes — like royalty with flower crowns — as well as new ones, such as posing nude underwater while holding her baby bump.
Beyoncé also proved that this moment is a family affair by highlighting the important women in her life, adding a photo of her grandmother holding her mother when she was a child, a picture of her mother posing at the beach when she was pregnant with Beyoncé, and images of the singer on vacation while pregnant with Blue Ivy. The 5-year-old even makes appearances in the staged flower shoot, wearing gauzy gowns and beads in her hair.
And we cannot get enough of her kissing Mom’s belly.
In the more than 60-photo post, the Lemonade artist also paid tribute to her husband, Jay Z, chronicling photos of the couple as far back as 2002 (when they started dating) and including photos from their 2004 “Crazy in Love” single, their wedding, honeymoon night, and right after the birth of Blue.
Separating moments throughout the page are poetic stanzas of motherhood and love. “Mother is a cocoon where cells spark, limbs form, mother swells and stretches to protect her child, mother has one foot in this world and one foot in the next, mother, black venus.”
