Beyoncé Gives Her First Interview in Years, Doesn’t Seem to Be Particularly Chatty

We’ve certainly seen and heard a lot about Beyoncé in the past few years, but we haven’t exactly heard much from the singer as far as interviews. According to the New York Times, she hasn’t given one since 2013. But now, our benevolent queen has returned to bless us with a little sound bite, for Beat magazine, no less.

Beyoncé covers the mag’s latest issue, decked out in red and white stripes, with an American flag waving prominently behind her. Sure, Bey answered questions for the accompanying article, but don’t get too excited because it seems as if they’re not exactly hard-hitting. Beat posted a little teaser of the interview and at best, the questions are what you might see filling out an online dating profile, as opposed to something you would ask an international superstar.

So, what did we find out about Beyoncé this time? That she likes tomato sauce and extra jalapeños on her pizza, enjoys a good Netflix and chill sesh, and can’t get Fetty Wap’s “Jugg” out of her head. Yes, all very fascinating.

But perhaps the most vital piece of information we discovered is which throwback Beyoncé looks the singer would hypothetically wear for Halloween: “Destiny’s Child Survivor era with the army fatigues,” she said. “Or maybe Bootylicious with the gold tooth and pink tips in my hair.”

We’re hoping that the full interview is much more revealing than whatever that preview was supposed to be, but considering the iron grip Yoncé has on her image, we’re not getting our hopes up. But at least we know exactly which Beyoncé costumes the singer prefers, so do with that information what you will, guys.
