We have a not-so-secret hoarding problem when it comes to eyeshadow palettes. Really, though, what's
not to love about gorgeous colors and textures artfully arranged in a lovely package? They're not just pretty to look at, though; eyeshadow palettes can also be one of the best ways to play up your eye color. Since the shades are carefully curated by experts, it's basically a whole look in one product. The problem: How do you know which one will work best for you?
So, to find the best palettes for each eye color, we called up the experts and got their color-theory tips. Then, we pulled the top new palettes to match their suggestions. Click through to find the best picks for your peepers.
"Since brown is considered a neutral color, brown-eyed girls can pull off most shadows," says makeup artist Clarissa Luna. "When I really want to bring out the clarity in that eye color, I'll use brown, gold, or purple tones."

"If I want to make brown eyes look lighter, I'll use mossy green tones," says Luna.

"Warm brown eyes really pop with cool shades, like charcoal and silver," says makeup artist Tina Turnbow. Luna adds, "There's something magical that happens to brown eyes when gray hues come into play."

Pairing shades opposite each other on the color wheel makes each hue stand out. But, as Luna explains, "The opposite of blue is orange, and that's not the most practical color to wear for everyone." Instead, she recommends choosing shades with orange undertones, like terracotta and bronze hues.

Turnbow recommends looking for colors with a bit of texture to them, explaining that the texture can mimic flecks of color in the eye.

Green and hazel eyes are very similar in that they share a complementary color of red. "Since there aren't many red shadows on the market, I opt for colors in the rust family," says Luna.
