Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe’s Ring Didn’t Cost As Much As You Think

Shawn Booth’s workout playlist must have had Beyoncé on it—and he must have heeded her advice—because on Monday night’s finale of The Bachelorette’s 11th season, the personal trainer decided he liked it so much, he put a ring on it. (And yes, Kaitlyn Bristowe, accepted!)

“I fall more and more in love with you every time I see you. I see a best friend, a partner in crime. You have already made me the happiest guy in the world. I love you so much,” Booth said, to which Bristowe admitted she’s “made mistakes…a lot of mistakes.” But that didn’t stop the 28-year-old from getting down on one knee and pulling out a little black box from his pocket.

“Shawn was very self-assured and there was no doubt in his mind about what he was about to do,” celebrity jeweler Neil Lane, who helped both contestants choose rings, told People. “He was not nervous at all and was like, ‘That’s the ring, that’s the girl and we are moving on together.’”

And while Bristowe, 30, looked beautiful in her tailored-to-fit blush pink Mac Duggal gown, Bachelorette Nation is gawking over the 3.5-carat Neil Lane ring. On Tuesday morning, headlines claimed that Bristowe’s ring, though not the biggest in the show’s history, was the most expensive ring that any Bachelor or Bachelorette had ever received. But that’s not actually the case.

According to some, the ring—a platinum band set with a central round brilliant-cut diamond in the center that’s cushioned by nearly 160 smaller diamonds—isn’t worth the $150,000 that sources are reporting.

“If someone were to go into Neil Lane, that ring or something similar would retail at $70,000 to $75,000,” a source close to the jeweler tells Yahoo Style.

Well, regardless of the cost of Bristowe’s new bling, they say you can’t put a price on love. Here’s to the new couple’s actually lasting.
