Ariel Winter Vows to Never Quit Social Media, Talks Infamous Bodycon Graduation Dress
Ariel Winter is all about sharing her body positivity -- and won't let any haters get in the way of that.
The 18-year-old actress covers Seventeen magazine's November issue, and talks about the hate she receives online, thanks to her skin-baring Instagram posts showing off her curves. These days, Winter says she's learned to deal with it in a healthy manner.
"It's definitely hard being self-conscious and having the world be able to tell you how they feel about you," Winter admits to the magazine. "Before Twitter and Instagram, if you felt a certain way about a person you didn't know, you couldn't tell them. Now I wake up and I have tweets to me about how I'm a fat, ugly blah-blah."

"When I was younger, it took a lot more of a toll on me than it does now," she continues. "Three or four years ago, I would have been devastated, like, 'Why do people feel this way about me? I'm just being me.' My sister helped me understand that people will say those things regardless of how you look. I tell myself every day, 'I look fabulous.'"

Winter says there are other young girls who definitely need to hear that empowering message, which is why she won't ever quit social media despite the harsh judgment she sometimes receives.
"I definitely have pushed myself to deal with the good and the bad because I feel there are so many girls who need to hear positivity," she explains. "I feel like as many of us women who can band together and discuss things in a positive way will be so beneficial. Losing one person in that discussion wouldn't be helpful."
As for one of her most controversial posts from June -- Winter posing in her blush pink cutout graduation dress showing major cleavage -- the actress couldn't care less about her critics.
"I looked great in it, I loved it, and that's all that matters to me," Winter says. "There are so many other issues in the world that are more important than my graduation dress showing a little underboob."

ET spoke with Winter in August, when she shared similar sentiments about her social media posts.
"Everybody is so hyped up on the fact that I post photos where my butt's out. It's a butt. Everyone has a butt," she told ET exclusively. "I don't think it's crazy."
"It's like, 'Let me live! I'm enjoying my life, you're enjoying your life, you should be posting your butt if you like it, too!'" she added.
