"I Am A Singer 5" to feature top stars?

5 Dec - Although Hunan TV has denied previous rumours about the line-up of contestants for the new season of "I Am A Singer", another source recently leaked a list of supposedly new celebrity performers who would be joining the show.

As reported on Tencent, the list of Season 5 contestants, which was exposed to the media recently, featured some of the biggest names in music, including Hong Kong singers Sandy Lam, Hins Cheung, Teresa Carpio and Emil Chau.

The list also named top Taiwanese stars such as singer-songwriter David Tao, singer-actress Angela Chang, and Mandopop star Jam Hsiao; and Chinese performers Tia Ray, Ding Dang, He Jie, and soloist Tan Jing.

Sources also shared that the show will also change its name from "I Am A Singer" to a simple "Singer".

Last season, it was Hong Kong-born American singer Coco Lee who won the competition, defeating Taiwanese singer Jeff Chang and South Korean performer Hwang Chi-yeul.

Hunan TV has yet to respond to the latest rumours.
